What the top speed any of you have ever reached? i know the speedometer only goes to 120 but its gotta be higher then that, right?

Avengers are speed limited between 115 and 120 mph from what I recall. It certainly has more in it but they limit them mainly because the tires aren't rated for faster than that...Manufacturers covering their butts. Fastest I've gone is 110...Live in the city and haven't had many opportunities to go faster nor do I really want to. Have had my truck up to the 130ish range and pretty much scared the crap outta me. Superchips got me past the speed limiter and it has high performance tires on it but trucks are not designed to go that fast..lol

Max speed is limited due to the low tire rating.
The 2.4and 3.6 can not be tuned yet by diablo, hypertech and others, but once possible you will have theoptions to remove the top speed.

I was able to get my 3.6l Avenger up to "118" (speedometers aren't entirely accurate) at my cousin's farm in Iowa. Had to go down hill to achieve that though. I'd imagine that we could get 130, maybe 140 with proper tires and the governor removed. Depends mostly on the aerodynamics at that point. The Bugatti Veyron can hit 155mph with a mere 270hp, but its body is about as slippery as they come.

why
While not trying to be a downer, why do you need to go that fast.
Unless you are in certain countries with unlimited speed limits going excessive speeds will get you into serious trouble.
That being said I have gotten my Avenger into the 105 range.

, my max speed in the Ave was a 95 mph, I want to keep my license...
I lived many years in Europe and traveled many time through Germany, how nice to drive for miles at top speed......and still being overtaken.

While it's not at all necessary to have a car that goes 100mph+, it's certainly e-peen inflating. It's no different than improving your 0-60 or 1/4 mile. How often will those be relevant to real world applications, excluding putting a ricer in its place? There's definitely a market for cars that go up and beyond any reasonable speed, otherwise cars like the Veyron or McLaren F1 wouldn't exist. Will I ever push my car up past 100mph again? Doubtful, unless I add some significant mods and a new ecu chip. It's just something I wanted to do at least once, so I decided to do it when it was still new and in the best shape.

Funny thing with my Hemi pickup in the first 1000 miles got it up to top speed (105 at the time) and broke it in pretty hard but not abusive...Ironically it hasn't had any of the major problems that a lot of the 2003s had. Maybe has something to do with the way I broke it in...that or it was built on a Wednesday? lol

126mph, it must have gotten to the limiter, but I didn't feel a hard limiter. I haven't gone that fast again, just the one time. Something I don't like to admit, I got a ticket after a short burst, got radared going 103. I got a lawyer, got it reduced to non-reckless, but the lawyer was $400, and ticket was almost $900. So, needless to say, I don't go faster than 90-95 for short spurts, then back to 75-80.

I really want to find a way around the governor. Yesterday I was able to get up to 115 with 3 people in the car no problem at all. Felt like there was much more room to keep going and didnt feel like there was any strain on the car at all.

Yeah my uncle showed me this great spot and I got up to 118 with him and it still felt like it had a lot left in it. I had to slow down because I ran out of runway.

I read somewhere Mang, can't remember where, that if the governor wasn't on there then it would have a top speed in the 140's. Can't remember where I read that. hmmm. Aerodynamics aren't the smoothest like a Nissan or Kia, if they were, who knows. Fast enough anyway to get in a lot of trouble.

Yeah I am perfectly fine with it being in the 140s, cant think of an occasion where I would ever need to go faster than that.

110 mph here. Its just that I don't like limits. They are meant to be broken. I want that limit out of there completely.

I only ever hit 110 on many occasions I wish it wasn't governed it seems like it has so much more power

I haven't hit 100 in mine, but I'm not sure how much further it would be able to go after that since I only have the 2.4L I4 engine. It does feel good on the few time I've ignored the speed limit, and I'm sure I could at least hit 100, but I'm a very paranoid person and don't want to risk the ticket.

I've run mine up to 100, pretty much on accident. Hadn't had it very long, and got on it to get around some stupidity....didn't realize how quick it was going to accelerate.

My Avenger top speed 110
Fastest I have ever driven 130 and that was in a SRT Charger and I had more desire to go higher but I ran out of road.

Used can be doen for less then $200.
$310 for a new is a good price and the fastman is a reliable source.
